Unless one makes some personal changes, one will not do better.  Knowing better does not mean one will do better; knowing better does not mean one has the strength or self-control to do better.  That is why we need a partner who can empower us to make some changes – the Holy Spirit.  Jesus knew that so that is why He told his disciples to go to Jerusalem and wait for the Holy Spirit. Luke 24:49 “I am going to send you what my Father has promised, but stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high.”

SMC SMALL GROUPS

At SMC, we believe that groups are imperative for the success of true discipleship. It's not necessarily that Jesus needs us to disciple each other. We've just found that accountability and encouragement are essential for the ups and downs that life brings us—even a life following Jesus. Jesus said we would face trials of many kinds, and when these seasons come it's better to have someone to lean on for love and support. We are better together.

Do you experience conflict in your relationships (who doesn't )? Do find yourself in a never-ending cycle-usually resulting in hurt feelings? Wednesday, February 9th, we are going to see what the Bible says about how we should respond to conflict. Join us at St. Mary's church at 6:30 pm.
